About Jola V. Designs
At Jola V. Designs we create unique and funky handmade leather bags and accessories, all designed, created, and produced in Vancouver, Canada. We are eco-friendly, and fashion-forward, with a European-influenced style.
Launched in 2009, with a selection of unique, handmade women’s leather bags, Jola V. Designs (pronounced "Yo-lah") quickly acquired a following among fashion-driven shoppers, as well as retailers around Vancouver and abroad, and other members of the arts community and media. Since then, the innovative and eclectic brand has been associated with original and practical detailing, and an equilibrium of funky and classy styling.
Jolanta Va, the face and soul behind Jola V. Designs, is a European-born designer with a passion for a balance of aesthetics and practicality, trend and sustainability. She designs and makes the bags herself, using leathers and other materials sourced from local suppliers of overstock, liquidation, or repurposed pieces, with minimal waste to dispose.
Jola V. Designs is for eco-conscious shoppers, who tend to spot upcoming trends a few seasons earlier – before the mainstream mass-market retail outlets discover them!
Mission
To create unique, beautiful, and affordable bags and other accessories made of reclaimed or recycled leather and other materials.
To preserve the environment through the use of chosen materials to the fullest; to seek alternative sources for leather, felt and any other, by their nature, non-vegan materials.
All our leather is reclaimed, repurposed or surplus stock. Every effort is made to minimise waste while produced our products, even usable scrap pieces are often turned into small accessories, such as coin purses or into decorative details on larger pieces. Every bit of detail has its purpose...
